Christmas

We had so much fun this Christmas. All of my brothers and sisters were here and it was so much fun spending time with them. My mom put together a Nativity for the kids; they got in costumes and it was so much fun to watch. The kids decorated a tree with all of our handmade childhood ornaments and it was fun to look at all the stuff we had made when we were young. When Doug and I had Alexa we started a tradition of opening up one gift on Christmas Eve which is Christmas pajamas. This year we got them cute little Santa Clause pajamas. After that, we put out some cookies and milk for Santa Clause. In the morning the girls had so much fun opening up their presents and playing with all of their toys. Their favorite gifts of course were the dolls and princess dress-ups. They are such girly little girls. Later on that day, we went over to my parents house and opened up some more gifts and ate lunch. It was such a fun day. We had such a wonderful Christmas holiday and I am grateful for the Spirit we felt. I am so grateful for the birth of Jesus Christ and I am grateful for all he has blessed us with.

Temple Square

Yesterday we went to Temple Square with our good friends the Chatterleys and the Gibbons. We had such a good time seeing them. I can't believe how much their kids have grown. All of us have girls and no boys. We went to The Spaghetti Factory for dinner and were able to talk and catch up. It's always fun when we get together because the boys are so funny and all we do is laugh. They are such fun friends and I am glad we could get together.

Mom & Dad's 60th Birthday Party

Yesterday we celebrated Mom & Dad's 60th Birthday. Mom turned 60 in October and Dad turns 60 in December. It was so much fun having everyone together. It was such a great party. So many of our aunts, uncles cousins and friends were there and it was fun catching up with them. Missy and Ryan made an awesome birthday cake. It looked so professional-it was really tasty too!! Growing up my parents made such a big deal about birthday parties. I always felt so special and loved and I am glad that we could throw them a birthday party and let them know how much we love and appreciate them. I love you Mom and Dad.

Halloween

Well Alexa and Grace have been looking forward to Halloween for a long time. I love Halloween and all of the fun things that go along with it. We carved pumpkins last night and made Halloween cookies today. The girls could hardly wait to go trick-or treating. Alexa was Tinkerbell and Grace was a Cowgirl. They looked adorable in their costumes. They got a lot of candy and had fun seeing all of their friends trick-or-treating in the neighborhood.
Alexa was laughing at Grace because I told her to say cheese and instead she pretended she was blowing out candles. Grace always keeps us laughing.

It was fun seeing them interact with the older kids.Amie taught the kids a spooky Halloween song last week and they sang it for all of the moms today. It was such a fun song. Alexa has been singing it all week.

There was a little corn maze and a hay bale maze that the kids had fun playing in. There were also baby animals that the kids were able to see. Grace's favorite little animals were the pigs.Alexa and Grace's favorite part of course was the hayride. It was a lot of fun going on a ride through the farm and seeing all of the pumpkins and sunflowers.

It's a Girl!!!

Yes, that's right, we are having girl #3. We are very excited. I was hoping for another girl, so when the technician said it was a girl I was so happy. Doug was happy as well but then immediately thought about things like paying for three weddings and the fun teenage years with girls. Alexa wanted it to be a girl as well so she was very excited when we told her the news. The ultrasound pictures showed that she is healthy and everything looked great. We feel very blessed. To actually see the baby is very fun and it makes me even more excited for her to get here.
